Charles and Becky McQuaig
About the Authors!
* * * * *
Charles and Becky McQuaig live in their native state of Florida.
Except for a brief period in 2006 when they moved to Nashville, Tennessee, the McQuaigs have been life-long residents of Pensacola and members of First Pentecostal Church.
During the fifty plus years at FPC, both Charles and Becky have been active in the Children’s Ministry, Music, and Drama departments.
With thirty-four years of marriage to their credit, Charles and Becky McQuaig have co-authored three inspirational books, two plays, and a musical. They have also written over thirty inspirational songs.
For over three years the McQuaigs were co-editors and publishers of The Sunday Times, a monthly publication designed to encourage and suggest innovative ideas to Children’s ministry workers.
Charles holds a degree in design engineering and is also an accomplished musician, playing bass and guitar.
Charles has an incredible testimony of how God spared his life seventeen years ago when he sustained a near fatal chainsaw injury to his face.
In the book It Happens All the Time, Charles gives an inspiring account of how God has sustained him through years of pain and reconstructive surgeries.
In Buried Treasures From the Fields of Life, Becky gives her own faith-building testimony of how God completely healed her body after the pathologist confirmed cancer cells were present.
In the mid 1970’s, Charles and Becky, along with Reverend Ronald Baker (currently the pastor of Word of Truth Church in Blountstown, FL.) formed the Apostolic Sounds. For several years the trio sang and evangelized all over the Southeastern United States. They were also privileged to assist Pentecostal pioneer, Rev. D. L. Welch in several tent revivals. The Apostolic Sounds disbanded when Rev. Baker married Sandra, the love of his life.
Nearly twenty years later, Charles and Becky joined with Reverend Harry Bush and wife Marie to form the Bush/McQuaig singing group.
While the majority of their singing took place in their local assembly, the foursome did hold several weekend and one-night revival meetings. The quartet gives God all the glory, honor, and praise for the many souls filled with the Spirit during their decade as an evangelistic team.
Bush/McQuaig also joined well known former country singer, Wally Willette on several occasions to sing Southern gospel and bluegrass.
Becky’s writing career began as a staff writer for her high school newspaper when she attended Pensacola Christian Academy in the early 70’s.
She has since written articles for Apostolic World Report and Tongues of Fire. Becky also has several children’s stories, a second novel, and her first book of poetry in the making.
Her novel, A Most Excellent Love, is scheduled for release in 2008, as is her children’s book, Eythan The Burden-Bearing Donkey.
Becky is a retired surgical nurse who decided thirteen years ago that stay-at-home mom was a better career choice.
Charles and Becky have one daughter, Whitney, who also enjoys writing. She has written several poems and was among those contributing testimonies in the McQuaig’s second book, What Meaneth These Stones?
In February 2006, Whitney presented her parents with their first grandchild, Bryson Tucker, weighing in at 7 lbs 4 oz.
